Learning Chinyanja

The Chinyanja language is also known as Chichewa or simply Chewa. It is spoken mostly in Malawi as the official language, but is also recognized as a tribal language in Zambia. It is also spoken in Zimbabwe, Mozambique. The language originated with the Maravi Empire (1400s-1700s).

It is considered a dialect of Shona.
